Ideal results in my opinion. Top guys scoring and team losing.

I can certainly appreciate that point of view.

Love this take and really love the Fabbri trade. Him being a point per game guy so far and turning AA around is astonishing. I doubt he keeps up the pace but still it is nice to see.

It’s shocking and welcome. Fantastic trade for Yzerman

Now if he could find a couple defensemen and another Bishop.

When I first read this I thought it was a chess analogy and I was going to suggest a Rook or a Knight. Just one of those days.

Crazy to wish for Holtby and Pietrangelo this offseason? Cap space shouldn't be an issue.

Asking me to judge “crazy” is like asking Golden Corral how much food is too much. I’m certifiable.

However, I’m not sure this is the best window for those players. Our core is still a couple years off and both those guys could hit the “downward slope” soon after they sign the next deal. Apparently, 30 is the new 70 in the NHL. I don’t know if Larsson or Petruzzeli are going to hit the stride we need them to. Both have “potential”. Goaltending will have to be addressed for the team to move forward though.

Would be the dumbest thing possible. You have to rebuild the right way not overpay for 30 year olds on the decline.

At least the game was entertaining last night, lot of goals scored and some good back and forth hockey. It's easier to watch them lose when they make a game out of it.

Howard is going to finish this season with career lows in most categories at this rate. It's not all a reflection on him, the defense has helped that out a lot, but he doesn't seem to have the ability to really steal a game anymore. He's only had a couple of real solid games this year, most of the rest have been pretty underwhelming.

Uhh it’s all on Howard. He is consistently performing below what is considered average goaltending.

I disagree. I can count on both hands how many brutal turnovers out of both Bowey and Cholowski that resulted in scoring chances and goals that should have never developed. It's easiest to pin it entirely on the goaltending but to say it's entirely Howard and no other factor plays into that isn't right. The team has a whole have played some pretty awful games with him in net.

Oh, you're that guy.

Okay bud, my mistake.

I'm not interested in trying to hammer a toothpick into a steel door, so we can agree to disagree. I'll keep watching games, you keep watching statistics and numbers.

Howard has been bad this season. The defense isn't good and i think we can all agree on that but the goalies still need to make the saves they should make and make some (sometimes) that they likely shouldn't make. Howard too often is letting in goals he should have and making very few saves he likely shouldn't.

Plenty of goalies have played on bad teams and still had decent to good numbers (at least in save %). I mean look at Luongo on those poopty Panthers teams before he went to Vancouver. His GAA was always below 3 and his save % was always above .910

The defense is fine.

The P.K. is terrible.

The goaltending is terrible.

The depth scoring is terrible.

If you want to be a moron and pretend anyone that values data analysis doesn’t watch the games, that’s on you.
